WEEK 8 FANTASIESWow!!! We chicks are still reeling from the dizzying finishes of last week’s games. So many tricks and treats filled our television screens as we watched countless flea flickers, returns for touchdowns and last second thrillers. Of course, topping our list were the magic tricks of our little Flutie. However, studs such as Corey Dillon and Mike Alstott certainly lived up to our steamy dreams as well. In Week 8 we chicks are anticipating a lot more fireworks as our favorite studs hit mid-season form. Fantasy studs: Troy Brown: The Pats hard-working receiver is finally getting the recognition he deserves this season. After years of fighting for his roster spot, he is now the go-to stud in the Patriots’ revitalized offense. Troy is currently second in the AFC with 579 receiving yards and his fortunes are only looking better as he heads to Atlanta. The flailing Falcons have the worst pass defense in the league, allowing 267.2 yards per game. Brown should be chomping at the bit to go head to head against these floozies! Charlie Batch: Poor Charlie has been playing pretty good ball considering the injury bug that has plagued his receivers. It is just a matter of time before his hard work pays off in the form of a “W”. Unfortunately, the Lions will not have an easy job as they head to San Fran where the 49’ers will be trying to fight back after a heart-breaking loss. However, Charlie should be able to post some pretty numbers as he tries to keep up with Garcia and the 49’ers aerial attack. After all, the San Fran boys have never been able to resist a hot quarterback. Batch and the dreamy Johnnie Morton should be able to make some sizzling connections this week. Donovan McNabb: The Chunky Soup Boy certainly had a downer of a week in Week 7. After the high of winning against the G-men on Monday Night, Donovan had a double dose of disappointment as his team lost and he let his fantasy owners down. We chicks are betting that a little road trip to Arizona is just what Donovan needs to put the bounce back in his step. If Cowboy Clint Stoerner could score against these guys, then McNabb should have a field day! Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell: My, how quickly things change in the NFL! Last year no one wanted to see his or her fantasy studs matching up against the Titans. This season it is a dream come true. The Steelers came into the Monday Night matchup with one of the most dismal passing games in recent history. However, Kordell Stewart and Plaxico Burress looked like absolute super heroes as they humiliated Tennessee’s beat up secondary. Just imagine all the fun that a couple of real studs can have as they take advantage of Tennessee’s broken down unit! Fantasy Duds: Emmitt Smith: Our favorite Cowboy is suffering from a limp condition this week. We know he’ll do his best to get some action this week, however it takes a lot longer to recover as a man gets older. Even if he is up to the challenge, Smith will be facing a very angry Giant defense. After losing two heartbreakers by one point each, the G-men got their butts handed to them by Snyder’s Redskins. If the reigning NFC Champs have any fight left in them (which we suspect they do), they will come out on Sunday ready to rumble. Keyshawn Johnson: This revived Johnson has certainly exploded this season. However, even super-studs have off weeks. The Packers are coming off a bye week and are eager to pack a wallop on their next foe after being smacked around by the Vikings in Week 7. They also are looking for a little revenge after suffering their first loss in Week 5 at the hands of the Bucs. But don not worry, Key – you got the Lions up next. You should have no problem making up for lost time!
