This week we head to the final road course of the season and Tony Stewart’s first win of the year. Yes, Tony will win this weekend at Watkins Glen! Jeff Gordon dominates at Sonoma and Tony dominates at the Glen winning 4 of the last 6 races run here.
Jeff Gordon is one of the best road racers in the series but he always runs better at Sonoma than at Watkins Glen. If you can get both him and Stewart in your leagues do it. If you have a choice take Tony this weekend.
Kevin Harvick beat Tony to the finish line in 2006 and is a very good road racer in his own rite. If you throw out last years finish for Kevin at the Glen his worst finish was 15th there. Last year Kevin finished 6 laps down and I don’t remember if it was because of an accident or mechanical problems.
Robby Gordon loves the road courses and had a good run going at Sonoma earlier this year until he had a transmission problem. He is a hard guy to bet against this weekend no matter whom he is driving for.
Mark Martin is another great road racer but he won’t be competing this weekend so make sure you don’t use him.
Carl Edwards has been getting better and better with every race he has under his belt. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him battling for the win once again this weekend.
Kyle Busch surprised a lot of people at Sonoma this year when he went to victory lane but not anymore. This guy can get it done anywhere at anytime. If he keeps it on the track he will be around at the end to battle with the leaders for the win.
Denny Hamlin has raced at Watkins Glen twice and has come away with 2 top 10 finishes. Put Denny on a flat track anywhere and he will give you a chance at visiting victory lane.
Ron Fellows will be driving the #01 car this weekend in hopes of improving on the current 32nd place that Regan Smith sits in the owner standings. Ron can get it done and won in Montreal just last weekend in the rain.
Boris Said is another top gun trying to make the race this weekend. If qualifying gets rained out so do Boris’ chances at competing unless he can find another ride.
Marcos Ambrose had a great run going at Sonoma earlier this year until he got caught up in an accident and could be a factor once again this weekend for the Wood Brothers.
