Fantasy FLOPS!

This week was painful for many waiver wire gems and top players, but mostly their owners.  It was really easy to pick a team of flops.  Few if any of these players would have been cut and their owners were counting on them to come up big in the championship game of most leagues.  I steer clear of injuries since that is out of the player's hands and my flops include players who were "active" the entire game.  I will include Yahoo Average Draft Position and number they were taken at their respective positions.  By Garth Gregor.

Quarterback:

Carson "6 points" Palmer, Cincinnati Bengals – 115 passing yards,  1 touchdowns, 2 interceptions - bad weather, give us a break(ADP of 20 and 2nd quarterback selected).

Running Back:

Adrian "4 points" Peterson, Minnesota Vikings – 27 rushing yards, 21 receiving yards, and 0 touchdowns - someone(Redskins) finally caught on, stack the line and let Tarvaris try and throw(ADP of 76.5 and the 23rd running back selected).

Earnest "1 points" Graham, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 21 rushing yards, 11 receiving yards, and 0 touchdowns - this waiver wire gem finally disappointed fantasy owners and it was during most leagues championship week(probably not selected in any but the deepest leagues).

Wide Receiver:

Marques “1 point” Colston, New Orleans Saints – 16 receiving yards and 0 touchdowns(ADP of 32 and the 9th wide receiver selected).

Deion "2 points" Branch, Seattle Seahawks – 36 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns - at least he can blame it on the weather and his quarterback(ADP of 57.9 and the 25th wide receiver selected).

Plaxico "0 points" Burress, New York Giants – 6 count them 6 receiving yards and 0 touchdowns - have defenses figured out he is the only Giants' receiver that needs to be covered?(ADP of 43.9 and the 17th wide receiver selected).  SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK!!!

Tight End:

Antonio "2 points" Gates, San Diego Chargers – 24 receiving yards and 0 touchdowns(ADP of 30.6 and the 1st tight end selected).  SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK!!!

Defense:

Green Bay "0 points" Packers – Kyle Orton started in bad weather and this defense registered 0 sacks, 0 interceptions, 0 fumble recoveries and allowed 29 points allowed???(ADP of 138.3 and the 26th defense selected).

Kicker:

Mason “1 point" Crosby, Green Bay Packers - One PAT and no field goal attempts after sensational week 15(ADP of 114.8 and 15th kicker selected).

Ok, this starting lineup looks like an active owner who had been fine tuning the lineup to prepare for the week 16 championship.  Additions such as Mason Crosby, Earnest Graham, and the Green Bay Packers Defense all would qualify as waiver wire gems and must starts in week 16 with favorable matchups.  Maybe Mason Crosby would have been benched due to the bad weather but this is as likely a starting lineup as any.  It would have looked like a strong lineup with a good shot at winning.  Instead this lucky owner would be rewarded with a whopping 17 points on Tuesday morning and an ugly loss in the playoffs.
